Of Animals

I made a trip to Banerghatta Biological Park this weekend and there was a renewed sense of appreciation of the wonders of nature in me. To be frank- all the unnatural learnings that I got courtesy my investment in further studies, seemed to have evaporated in a jiffy only to make space for more meaningful stuff. There are small learnings of nature that we inherit during our growing days which eventually get lost in the midst of tough life. To get them back is easy if one is in constant touch with nature, but to replenish this reservoir is difficult. I relished meeting a bunch of Assamese monkeys who displayed quirky attitude and moves that I could connect with. They are caged, but their minds are at work. Their eyes tell one story- of limited expression. Had the humans been half its population today, they would have been leading a life of self-worth. I am blessed to have seen tigers by naked eyes! They are the real heroes whom half of us think as good deals while the other half is protective about. What do they think? I'd like to know certainly. And then there were the mighty elephants, who were busy eating grass. They were adorable. If you are to learn about bondages and empathy join them. It is definitely not something new that I have highlighted through this snippet but tried to make a point about the essential learnings that we leave behind and how they never vanish but just hang around the corner waiting for us to pick them up again.
