Own a private beach !

Excited to have your own beach? Don't mistake this blog for freebies or contests to earn a treasure. However, if you want a treat for your senses then this write up may help! Its about last year around Nov that I visited Go-Karna, a coastal region 12 hours down the road from Bangalore. Being on the way to Goa most people overlook the very existence of this place. The bus stop is in the market place from where you might find rickshaws taking you towards the coast for a filthily high price. Be prepared to pay up as you wouldn't be in a mood to explore the various shortcuts just after stepping down from half a day's journey.
For the enthusiastic kinds, follow the white skin to get to the waters. Go-Karna is known for its beaches and scenic beauty. The one most talked about is the Om beach which gets its name courtesy the shape it possesses. They say its not the destination which matters but the journey.

This is very much true when you are trecking down the hills towards the shore. Its more like discovering a private heaven after a sweaty walk. What a respite to see water shining brightly under the sun ! It is ever inviting and calling to you. Kudle beach, which is where I finally decided to unpack is a little marvel. The shore is surrounded by shacks owned by localites and foreigners. Its in the shape of  half-moon, with clean sands and very few animals. Animals have equal right to enjoy the calmness of this place. I should be mentioning  they are an added attraction for foreigners. I took shelter at one of the first shacks. The house was Keralite in architecture. Owned by a localite but taken care of by an Aussie an Brit. These guys as I came to know, come down to Go-Karna letting loose. They are very particular about retaining beauty of this place which is endangered by the ghost of commercialization.
Eating at the shack restaurants is very interesting. The locals are well aware of world cuisines. It is a treat to have well prepared food at cheap rates. Before I forget let me talk about the scene at night. As the sun goes down the shores become naughty. They try to tease the moonlight which dances relentlessly on its waters. They music hence created is eerie yet soulful. Walking along the shore at night could be quite adventurous. Night dwellers of the sand seem to be all over playing hide and seek. Mad beauty is what I'd like to call this scene as. On our way back to the shack for some sleep, we see a lot of people in the verandah (enterance) of the house. And on the wall is an American film being screened, enjoyed by all. This is the way they celebrate a Saturday night ! Quite not the Goa kinds but much peaceful and resourceful. Next day morning, it being our last day at Go Karna we plan a visit to the town. Uphill with our packed bags, after having bid a goodbye to the waters was quite a walk. On reaching the top, we walked further up to reach the tip of the hill overlooking the blue waters. It was all green and blue, the colors blending very well ! It was almost heaven again :) From here we made way to the market, where bags, bandanas and bikinis were the most sold items. Soon we were back to the bus stop from where we would catch our bus back to Bangalore. While waiting for the bus, I was looking at the sand in my footwear and thought it isn't just the sand but all colourful and blissful memories that come along with me from a place where anyone can lose himself only to gain a new self !
Till I visit again ...
